On Tuesday 17 July, the Automobile Club of the Dominican Republic (ACD) officially handed the FIA Declaration on Air Quality, Climate Change, and Automotive Fuel Economy to the countryís President of the Chamber of Deputies Julio Cesar Valent"n Jimini·n. The declaration was presented by ACD Vice President Andrea Oliver and the Under Secretary of State for the Environment and Natural Resources Martha PÈrez.

During the course of the meeting, Valent"n was informed about the specific points of the Declaration and the importance that it could have in regards to the work of the Chamber of Deputies. Valent"n will now take the proposals forward to the legislative committees of Transport and the Environment, and will recommend that the details of the declaration be at the forefront of the mind of legislators when proposing law on green taxation. The ACD also used this high level political endorsement of the campaign as the base for the launch of the street campaign on 25 July.
